Follow Fest

Posted on

So today is Monday, September 23 (my nephew’s birthday!) and I’m participating in Follow Fest. It’s being hosted by the uber spectacular blogger and author Melissa Maygrove (you can catch up with her over at

The idea for Follow Fest is simple; it’s sort of a “cyber meet and greet”; you answer a few questions about yourself, drink a few cocktails, and mingle with other authors (okay, so the cocktails are totally optional).

If you’d like to sign up click here:

So without further adieu, here are the questions and my answers:

Name: Quanie Miller

Fiction or nonfiction? Definitely fiction. Aside from blogging, I can’t write nonfiction to save my life.

What genres do you write? Romantic comedies. And paranormal stories under another name.

Are you published? Not yet! But my debut novel, It Ain’t Easy Being Jazzy, will be released this October.

Do you do anything in addition to writing? I beta read for other writers.

Where can people connect with you? Here on my blog, of course, and here are other places you can find me hanging out online:

Is there anything else you’d like us to know? Aside from the fact that I make a mean jambalaya? Let’s see…well, I’d be willing to participate in release day activities for other authors (like posting covers, excerpts, author interviews, etc). I also welcome any comments or suggestions.

Well, that’s it! Thanks for stopping by! And please hop over to to meet some of the other authors participating in Follow Fest this week.

  2. You had me at jambalaya. Love, love me some jambalaya! Too bad I can’t cook it to save my life, lol. Well it’s nice to meet you and I wish you the very best with your debut novel! That has to be exciting. 😀

    • You know what? I think you’re right. I don’t even think about creative nonfiction since it’s something that I just do naturally. But I could totally do that! And you’re welcome!

  3. Fantastic, Quanie! Thanks for posting this.

I didn’t realize you had an author Facebook so I’m following you there from my author Facebook. And kudos for making a mean jambalaya! My boyfriend is such a jambalaya snob so I might have to ask you for one of your recipes if you don’t mind sharing!

Looking forward to the release of your book in October!

  4. Hi Quanie!

Good luck with the followfest! Grew up in New Iberia? I’m a Cajun too! I grew up in Gueydan…halfway between Lake Charles and Lafayette…;~)

If you get a chance, you might want to check out my blog’s WRITERLY WISDOM WEDNESDAYS where guest authors, agents, and illustrators chat about everything to do with the writing and publishing industry.

    Take care,

    • Hi Donna, thanks for stopping by! Gueydan, huh? That means we were almost kinda sorta neighbors:) I will definitely check out your blog, and especially WRITERLY WISDOM WEDNESDAYS.

  5. Well howdy! We “know” each other from Google Plus, but it’s nice to get to know you a little better 🙂

Just Liked you on FB and followed you on Twitter. I’ve got a couple of blogposts to write today and then, oh yeah, my kids, but I’m going to hop on over to Melissa’s blog to say hi there too.

  6. Quanie-

Such a pleasure meeting you! I just liked your FB page and followed you on Twitter. I’ll also be adding your name to my Bloglovin’ Reader.

I think you could actually give non-fiction a go…you said you couldn’t write it to save your life, but think…blog posts are actually non-fiction accounts of your life.

    Again, nice to meet you.

    • Hi ML, you’re so right! For some reason, when I think of nonfiction I always think of memoirs. I will definitely stop by your blog today and follow you on FB and Twitter. Great to meet you!
